A graduate of JWCI’s surgical oncology training program, Dr. Faries joined JWCI faculty in 2004 as Director of Translational Tumor Immunology. In this capacity, he spearheaded studies of immunologic responses, immunomodulation and immune markers in melanoma, in addition to conducting clinical trials. He then spent a year at Yale’s melanoma program. Dr. Faries recently rejoined JWCI to assume pivotal leadership positions in the melanoma research and fellowship programs. As Director of the Donald L. Morton Melanoma Research Program, he supervises the daily operations of JWCI's melanoma trials, including the phase III Multicenter Selective Lymphadenectomy Trials (MSLT-I and MSLT-II).  Dr. Faries was corresponding author on the final report of MSLT-I, which was just published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
